Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has issued the Notification of 6th Regional Rural Bank Common Recruitment Process, publicly known as IBPS RRB 2017 (CRP-VI). The Recruitment Process for recruitment of Group “A”-Officers (Scale-I, II & III) and Group “B”-Office Assistant (Multipurpose) will be conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) tentatively between September and November 2017.

IBPS RRB 2017 Brief Information:

For the posts of Officers Scale I and Office Assistant (Multi-purpose) the examination will be two tier i.e. the online examination will be held in two phases, preliminary and main. Candidates who apply for the post of Office Assistant (Multi-purpose) will be provisionally allotted on the basis of the marks obtained by them in the Main examination and the vacancies reported by the RRBs.
For the post of Officers Scale I, candidates who will qualify in preliminary examination and shortlisted will have to appear for Main examination and shortlisted candidates in the main examination will subsequently be called for a Common Interview to be coordinated by the Nodal Regional Rural Banks with the help of NABARD and IBPS in consultation with appropriate authority.
Candidates who apply for Scale II (Generalist and Specialists) and Scale III will appear for a single online examination and shortlisted candidates in the single examination will subsequently be called for a Common Interview to be coordinated by the Nodal Regional Rural Banks with the help of NABARD and IBPS in consultation with appropriate authority.

IBPS RRB 2017 Eligibility Criteria:

Citizenship:

A candidate must be either –
(i) a Citizen of India or
(ii) a subject of Nepal or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan or
(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Age:

  • For Officer Scale- III (Senior Manager)– Above 21 years – Below 40 years i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.07.1977 and later than 30.06.1996 (both dates inclusive)
  • For Officer Scale- II (Manager)– Above 21 years – Below 32 years i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.07.1985 and later than 30.06.1996 (both dates inclusive)
  • For Officer Scale- I (Assistant Manager)– Above 18 years – Below 30 years i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.07.1987 and later than 30.06.1999 (both dates inclusive)
  • For Office Assistant (Multipurpose) – Between 18 years and 28 years i.e. candidates should have not been born earlier than 02.07.1989 and later than 01.07.1999 (both dates inclusive)

Educational Qualification:

  • Office Assistant (Multipurpose)- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent
    i. Proficiency in local language as prescribed by the participating RRB/s*
    ii. Desirable: Working knowledge of Computer.
  • Officer Scale-I (Assistant Manager)-
    i. Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised University or its equivalent. Preference will be given to the candidates having degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics or Accountancy;
    ii. Proficiency in local language as prescribed by the participating RRB/s*
    iii. Desirable: working knowledge of Computer.
  • Officer Scale-II General Banking Officer (Manager)-
    i. Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Preference will be given to the candidates having a degree in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.
    ii. Two years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.
  • Officer Scale- II (Information Technology Officer)-
    i. Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University in Electronics / Communication / Computer Science / Information Technology or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
    ii. One year experience in relevant field
    iii. Desirable: Certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP etc.
  • Officer Scale- II (Chartered Accountant)-
    i. Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
    ii. One Year experience as Chartered Accountant
  • Officer Scale- II (Law Officer)-
    i. Degree from a recognised University in Law or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
    ii. Two years as an advocate or should have worked as Law Officer in Banks or Financial Institutions for a period of not less than two years
  • Officer Scale- II (Treasury Manager)-
    i. Charted Accountant or MBA in Finance from a recognized university/ institution.
    ii. One year experience in relevant field.
  • Officer Scale- II (Marketing Officer)-
    i. MBA in Marketing from a recognized university.
    ii. One year experience in relevant field.
  • Officer Scale- II (Agriculture Officer)-
    i. Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Dairy/ Animal Husbandry/ Forestry/ Veterinary Science/ Agricultural Engineering/ Pisciculture from a recognized university or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
    ii. Two years experience in relevant field.
  • Officer Scale- III (Senior Manager)-
    i. Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Preference will be given to the candidates having Degree/ Diploma in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Co-operation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.
    ii. Minimum 5 years experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institutions.

  • Important Notes:
    i. A candidate can apply for the Post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and can also apply for the Post of Officer. However a candidate can apply for only one post in officer’s cadre i.e. for Officer Scale-I or Scale-II or Scale-III.
    ii. Candidates have to apply separately and pay fees / intimation charges separately for each post.

Interview-

  • Officer Scale- I, II, III: Candidates who have been shortlisted in the main examination for the post of Officers Scale I and in the single level examination for the post of Officers Scale II and III under CRP- RRB-VI will subsequently be called for an
    Interview. The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks/scores in the interview for Officers Scale I, II and III will not be less than 40% (35% for SC / ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The relative weightage (ratio) of CWE and interview will be 80:20 respectively for the Officers cadre.
